There is a bond that some children have with their parents that can never be stripped away.

Cai Ruigong, a Taiwanese man, proved that recently when he hired an adult dancer to perform at his father’s funeral.

Ruigong’s father, Cai Jinlai, was 103 years old when he passed away. Jinlai was famous for his interest in strips clubs and often traveled around the island where he lived, visiting various strip clubs. Jinlai was the oldest person in his village and had over 100 descendants.

Ruigong had made a promise to his father that if he lived past 100 years old, he would have a stripper dance at his funeral.

Jinlai would have been proud to know that he went out in style, with a $160 stripper dancing for 10 minutes in front of his coffin.

rice paddies with a new twist

A small farming community in Inakadate, Japan, has devised a unique tourist attraction as the ultimate makeover for their area – rice murals.

The villagers have been creating impressive imagery by planting rice plants of varying colors on 2,500 sq. meters of land which have been reeling in thousands of tourists to their area.

The murals created by these enterprising farmers included pictures of a traditional Japanese warrior as well as Western icons like Napoleon.

The tradition started in 1993 when the villagers brainstormed about possible ways to spice up their surrounds. The final decision focused on an interesting combination of century-old farming tradition and creative artistry.

The villagers used rice plants of different colors to create the light and shade effects on the mural.

To this end, they used the normal lush green plants along with brown-leaved purple rice types and yellow-leaved ones.

The very first few murals were their own take of Mount Iwaki, which was created alongside the slogan “Inakadate, a village of rice culture.”

As years went by, Inakadate villagers became more daring and opted for bigger murals.

Hence in the early 2000s, they recreated the woodwork prints of famous artists like Sharaku on an expansive 15,000 sq meters of land.

The following year, they turned to computer technology for accurate planning and design of the paddy field murals.

All this effort was not in vain. The rice murals of Inakadate village are said to be the largest of their kind in Japan.

As it is, more than 150,000 eager tourists visit the village every year to catch a glimpse of the famous paddy works.

This 19 year-old Chinese girl Bao Bao is not like other girls her age, she has a very weird habit – eating soil. She started when she was 7 years old, when at a play ground, she felt the urge to taste the soil on the ground. Ever since she had her first bite, she could not stop eating soil.

“It gives me energy. I can live without rice but not soil. There is only one specific type of soil I would eat, yellowish, soft, and powdery”, she says, “How much I eat everyday is really depends on my appetite, usually half pound to two pounds a day to keep me going.”

According to her 11 years of dirt eating history, this girl has eaten over 3,000 pounds of soil. Friends are often joking about her boyfriend because the “cheap-date” girlfriend he has.

A snake measuring sixteen inches long has been discovered in China by Dean Qiongxiu, making its grand entrance by clinging to the bathroom wall with a clawed talon.

Unfortunately, its life was cut short when she beat it to death with a shoe as it attempted to defy evolution and scurry across the wall using its single foot. Preserving the specimen in alcohol, it was turned over to the Department of Life Sciences at West Normal University in Nanchang.

According to resident snake expert Long Shuai, the cause of the foot remains unknown, though an autopsy may reveal why. This biological anomaly is in a way similar to the growth of an extra head, which shares similarities in the way humans develop into conjoined twins.

Unlike two-headed snakes, however, human conjoined twins don’t often attack each other. A snake with two heads has little chance of surviving for a long time in the wild, though one can only guess the physical limitations or advantages a snake with an extra foot might have.

It’s only a matter of time before regular snakes evolve into walking monsters and take over the world
